This premium office desk made from solid pine would help businesses express themselves to its workers, visitors and possibly clients. The warm and soft energy of the solid wood would radiate and contribute to a good vibe in the office environment and show what the company is like. The user, and ergonomics, has of course also been a part of the design process.
Radicalness
In this course, we were challenged to design something radical to challenge Fora Form. My take on this is the use of solid wood, as that could be considered to be radical in this segment.
Divider
On the far end of the desktop there is a divider. this can be used as shelves or pinboards. It consists of tree movable parts you can adjust individually for your liking.
Cable management
Cables can be tucked in the milled grooves in the tabletop, hold in place by the divider when closed, and run down through and under the desk, where a shelf with rakes will guild the cords from desk to desk or down to the floor.

Drawer options
The desk also includes a small drawer for personal or sensitive material. The drawer has a telescope design, which makes it possible to pull out part of the drawer to be used as additional table space and to create a more comfortable feeling, or it can be tucked under the desk for a cleaner look.
If you unscrew the screws on the sides of the desk, you can move the drawer to the other side, if for example you sit against the wall.
Material
The main material of the desk is solid Pine wood. Pine is becoming modern again, especially with a white finish. The divider has a pin board material, and connection and detail pieces are from a powder coated metal. The legs are an example on this, they have metal "socks" that reduces wear from people's shoes and from cleaning staff.
The solid wood is not that hard a material, so it feels good against the skin and could also help with sound deadening in the office. The design is also enhancing the materials' possibilities and qualities in shape and form.
Thinking about production methods, the desktop would need to be milled, metal parts can be bent from steel plates, and some assembly should be done before shipping due to the many parts, making it complicated.

The desk is versatile and can be used in open spaces, close to a wall, together or alone, as the renderings underneath demonstrates.
