My main concern starting with this project was whether the structure and furniture nails would hold enough weight. Later I experienced that the leather was quite thick and hard to wrap around the side edges which made it hard to tighten enough, resulting in some sagging in the seat. I kept the design process short as I used this project as a material exploration / familiarization through physical hands-on building.
The structure of the chair is made of three layers of 15mm thick plywood glued together, overlapping each other. There are grooves in the side pieces for the back and leg support. The structure is held together with glue and 8 screws. The chair is upholstered in leather which is wrapped around the sides and pinned with furniture nails.
